I'm looking for a place to get a large quantity (50-100 pounds) of those
little colored glass drops/blobs/stones you see in craft shops in little
net bags for about $2-4/bag as decoration for a wedding.  Colored clear
glass marbles would work as well.

I have been unable to find anything but those expensive little bags.

Anyone know where I can find some at bulk price?

        Thanks Muchly,

try asking spectrum glass, i think they remelt some of their s***into
blobs. or aquarium supply, there used quite a bit in the fish tank
market. or a greenhouse there used in planters, or more likely, they
would probably be those lop-sided marbles.

Brian...most stained glass supplies stores will carry them, as well as
catalogues.  We bought some for a wedding from my stained glass
catalogue supplier in Canada.  I think we got 100 of the 9'16" globs
in a one pound bag and it cost $3.15 (for clear nuggets).  A definite
savings over what they ask for in the home decor shops (approx. 7
cents EACH).  If you check with any stained glass supplier, they're
likely to have them.

Good luck.

Have you checked your local stained glass supply outlet?  The ones I
frequent have LOTS of blobs that they sell by the pound.

You could also try a company that works in fiberglass.  Dim memory
tells me that the one where I grew up (Guelph, Ont, Canada) used to
have barrels of these irregularly shaped glass "marbles" that could
not be used and (because of contamination?), were not suitable for
reuse in the factory.  Most often the colour was a pale to medium
green but other colours were also present.

Most stained glass stores carry or can get blobs.  Look in the yellow
pages under Glass, Stained and Leaded.  If you buy wholesale, Ed Hoy's
carries them 1800 323-5668.

Just saw another source for globs the other day.  I was at American
Science and Supply in Geneva, Il and was surprised to find them very
cheap.  They have a mail order house out of Skokie, Illinois - sorry I
don't know the number - and they also have a web site.  Don't know the
name though - do a search for it if you want.  Barbara

large supply of different color glass beads in large quantities for a
much lower price than the glass suppliers.  That is where I intend to go
the next time I need them.
