Does anyone know where to get the memory wire people are making bracelets
with?
And what about the black pvc "tubing" for necklaces?

hello Nancy

I believe what you are looking for is Nitinol Wire.  Ni-Ti Wire is
availble in various sizes, cross sections and temperatures.  It can be
formed to your own shapes for springs, thermal actulators, "memory wire"
magic tricks, etc.  I have heard of it used in robotics but never for making
bracelets.  Check your local electronics store for robotics supplies.

E-mail me if you have any questions on this interesting project.  I
assume you plan to polish a piece of small diameter nitinol to a bright
silvery finish and decorate with clay beads.  Your result would be a
bracelet that can wrap completely around the radius of the wrist in room
temperature but will straighten again under a different temperature
without any permanent bend.

Unfortantly I can not be of much help with the black pvc "tubing" for
necklaces.  But I have seen a small diameter non-ridget black tubing in
electronics supply stores and model RC supply stores.

> Nancy in AtlantaOptional Extras has memory wire for both bracelets and necklaces.

They might be called "Bead Warehouse" now:  55 San Remo Drive; South
Burlington, VT  05403.  Regular phone:  802/658-0013.  Orders:  800/736-0781.
Fax:  802/864-5030.  I am in no way connected to them except as a happy
customer.  I have no idea where to get the PVC tubing.  Isn't that what all
of the young kids are using nowadays to make bracelets with?  I think I read
an article that said you could get it at a hardware store.  Good luck!  Let
me know how you like Optional Extras!  Carol.
