Embellishment Newsgroup Pins

Those of you who are coming to the Embellishment show in Houston this weekend:

Remember the discussion earlier about making pins to identify ourselves as rec.crafts.polymer-clay newsgroup subscribers and maybe to trade?

Well, I've made 21 pins on a Texas lone star theme with sideways smiley faces. I'll be at the show on Friday, in Kathleen Dustin's workshop and Pier's lecture, and on Saturday in Nan Roche's workshop. I hope to be working in the Houston Polymer Clay Guild booth on Sunday from 2 to 4, but may have to work.

So watch for a woman with a bunch of red, white and blue star pins and say hi! And bring something to trade. ;)

OH SHOOT!!! No one really responded to the idea of the swap so I didn't
make anything.  Guess what I'll be doing tomorrow night!  Save a pin for
me. I will have something to trade.  I'm in the same classes so I'll
definitely see you there.  I'll have my "Nancy" - you know the cartoon one
-  pin on.

Hey Nancy,

Want to make enough for me too?  Ha Ha!!  I definitely want in on the swap
too, but also didn't make anything with this in mind.  I love the idea of
the sideways smile.  It's very appropriate.

I've been so busy concentrating on glass beads...will you swap clay for
glass???  If so, I'll let Nancy be my envoy since I'll be in glass class
all day Fri and Sat.

I really wish that there were more days to take classes!!  I couldn't take
polymer AND glass.  Bummer.  Well, maybe next year.

See ya in Houston,

::I do hope you were suggesting something to call the MEMBERS of this
::newsgroup, not re-naming the newsgroup itself! We can give ourselves any

Sherry... Oh no!  Not at all <G>!  I know how hard everyone struggled to get
this site - and the name is exactly as it should be - so everyone can find us
easily <G>!!! Fimo-Friends... Claymates... Polyclay Pals... Whatever... "RCPC"
is fine too ...

I'm waiting to hear reports also - I've been thinking of Embellishment all
week-end... good thing I hadn't planned on going... My dad ended up having
by-pass surgery on Friday... and I would have wanted to be here anyway.  (He's
doing fine)...

I'm back and really too tired to write too many details right now, maybe
later.  But I had to tell you the highlight of the whole trip....
Kathleen Dustin invited everyone to come to her home on Saturday night!!!
What a WONDERFUL lady!!!  She was SOOO sweet and so classy!  Her home was
incredible and her studio was any artist's dream. I took a peak at all of
her canes in progress (she said we could make ourselves at home, really
she did).

I managed to buy enough of her things to cover any bills she will have for
a while!  (Not too sure about my own, but her's are covered!)  No regrets
here though!  I have gotten myself some true treasures that I intend to
frame and put "front and center" in my livingroom...to heck with taking a
chance of harming one of these babies!!

The next best thing about the weekend was seeing my online buddies and
meeting new ones.  That, in itself, would have made the trip worthwhile!
We missed you Dotty, hopefully we'll see you in Seattle though!
