C3 Concept|Create|Connect

An International Art and Design Competition Celebrating 100 years of radio
communication.

First prize 1000 English Pounds. Second prize 500 English Pounds. Third
prize 250 English Pounds

A unique opportunity for artists, art and design students and interested
individuals, to participate in one of the first
electronically organized European Artshows and to present their work. This
competition celebrates the three most important
aspects of visual communication: Idea; Originate and  Transmission -
Concept|Create|Connect (C3). The works will be
exhibited Internationally on Internet and during the ?100 Years of
Telecommunications1 conference in Munich, Germany.
Winners will qualify for cash prizes and publication in Volume 1 of  (C3)
- one of the first, on-line Competition
Catalogues, a valuable introduction to the international art and design
community and the world of corporate sponsorship.
The German telecommunications company Rohde and Schwarz is sponsoring this
international art and design competition as
part of an international telecommunications conference.

Hosted by the Government of Bavaria, scientific and technical experts from
over 120 different countries will be in
attendance. The conference will be followed by a public exhibition of the
winning works in Munich, Germany in October
1995.

Interpret the theme of 3Telecommunication2.

Artists, students and interested individuals - working in any medium -
are invited to submit their solution to the
Competition Office via Internet, slide or computer disc, no later than
September 18th 1995. A total of 30 works will be
eligible for prizes and a further 20 other examples will be submitted for
exhibition in Munich between 9th and 23rd
October 1995. In all, around 50 exhibits will be chosen to represent the
artists1 concept of telecommunication during the
last 100 years.

All works - which can be historical, futuristic or any other artistic
approach - chosen for exhibit will be given full,
artists1 credit together with information specific to the production of
the chosen work.

Winning entries will also receive a certificate signed by Marconi and
Popov's relatives who are attending the conference.
