Memory wire bracelet

Memory wire bracelet

Hi all,
I am trying to make a memory wire bracelet, but have a question.   In the
book, it looks like there is a finish on the long tube beads.  Will the
Future floor polish bend with the bead when I put it on the wire?   (I have
already tried putting the bead on the wire minus the finish--poked a hole
in the bead at almost the end with the wire--I guess I wasn't paying close
enough attention to what I was doing!  This will be my "practice" bracelet
now!)

My bead was flexible enough to go on the memory wire though and I was
pleased about this.  I just wondered if the finish (Future) would cause it
to be less flexible?

Any thoughts/advise would be appreciated as I cannot tell from the book
when the finish was put on the bead. (I am assuming it was put on before
the bead was placed on the wire.)

Thanks,
Jan

I don't think Future will have any problem bending, or will affect the
bend.  How many coats do you plan to put on it?

I put about three coats of Future on one of my early Fimo pens and
since it baked slightly curved, I spend a lot of time bending it just
for fun (instead of twiddling my thumbs) just to make it temporarily
straight again.  I get a pretty good curve out of it, and no cracks in
the clay or Future coat.

Good luck!

I was thinking of putting 2 coats on it.   We'll see how it comes
out....and I"ll pay closer attention to the other end of the bead this time
so I won't push the memory wire through the side of the bead!

Thanks for your input,
Jan

If there's any doubt, I suppose you could apply the Future after it's
aready on the memory wire.

Just a thought.

Good luck!
