Very OT, but such Good News!

I don't post often enough for you to notice I'm not here, *g* but I
have been away from computer and newsgroups for some weeks.  (Can you
say Major withdrawal?)

When I returned here I had 666 posts waiting! I waded through all of
them (shuffles feet in grass to wipe Troll goo off her shoes).  Then I
thought about it for a couple days before I decided to post this.

This is a friendly, caring, sharing group.  You commiserate,
congratulate and support each other.  You enjoy sharing happiness.
You're all my friends, even if I haven't met you face to face.  I feel
I belong, and can share my great good fortune with you.

Good News Item No. 1

My daughter Margret had a stress test with O2 saturations.  Results of
the test were not happy BUT low oxygen saturation DOES explain her
tiredness and habitual cyanosis AND her doctor prescribed
supplementary oxygen, which brings me to the best part of this news
item: With her oxygen, Margret can climb stairs without huffing and
puffing and turning blue anymore!  Her old energy and exuberance has
made a reappearance, and I'm so grateful.  (Even if it turns out to be
only a temporary reprieve, she is much more comfortable.)

Good News Item No. 2

On June 14th, my mother and I travelled from Florida, to Bethlehem PA
together.  Florida was mother's home for 25 years, the last 3 in
an Assisted Living residence.  She now resides in a pleasant Skilled
Care facility 20 minutes from my home.  We can visit every day if we
want. (making up for 30 years of lost time *bouncing with e***ment*)

Mother is 93 and is living with metastatic melanoma and BC. She had a
"health reversal"** in March.  Thought I'd be going to her funeral,
but she began to recover.  Visited her in person in May, and asked her
(for the ump***th time) if she would consider moving closer to me.
(yes, I'm an only)  To my vast surprise, she finally said "Yes."  I
made the arrangements, and here she is!  Her balance is very poor, and
she's not very strong, but I can still take her out in her wheelchair
for a walk around the grounds (nice paths!). She really enjoyed
watching bunnies with me for an hour last Saturday.  And she likes
having me read to her.

Good News Item No. 3

On Sunday, at 2:03 am, my very first grand-daughter, Michaela Margret
Thompson was born! (see new addition to sig) Mother and baby doing
fine.  My other daughter, Margret, is ecstatic beyond words that her
niece was given her name.  *doing cartwheels and cheers*  Going off to
spend next week with new Mom and new baby if all goes well.  (with new
Dad, too, when he's not at work.  Yes, the other Margret is going
along to visit. And it's Margret's birthday today!)

** symptoms made me think of a stroke or subdural hematoma, but as she
was refusing all diagnostics up to that point, we don't know.

Ann,
So much going on in your life, & I'm so happy for your good fortune
outcomes.  Enjoy your mother being close to you as these are precious
times.  Your grandbaby was born on a special day.  Our first born was
born on July 2 & she's a wonderful, kind, happy & joyous spirit that
was a joy to raise.
God Bless, Judy

Very good to be back, although I'm going away for a few more days to
go see Rose and Michaela! *happy dance*

I like that.  It's such good advice, too.

Mom said she misses me when I'm not there.  I think this is the first
time in over 30 years that she's said she missed me. *warm fuzzies*

Thank you, Judy, the last couple months have been extremely hectic.

Mother told me, for the first time in over thirty years, that she
misses me when I'm not there.  It makes me very happy to say, "I'd
like to visit Mom," and be able to get there in under 20 minutes.

Michaela shares your first born's birthday?  How wonderful!  I'll tell
Rose what kind of people are born on July 2nd.

Again, my thanks.
