Friends,

I just want to share some color mixing results that are making me soooo
happy here. As some of you know I am in love with lilac, purple, violet
etc. Naturally I dont like packet colors that much, and have been making
my own violets, usually from Cernit #13 red and #17 blue and whites
(translucent #10, pearl #110 and "coating white" #29). I am constantly
mixing blues and reds to see what I can get out of them, so the other day I
made a mix that is making me crazy. So here you have the recipe. It is a
straight copy from email I wrote.

"This is the best lilac that I have made this far: More glamour pink #112
than #34 blue. When mixed they really make a great color. Varying the
amounts gives really awesome shades of lilac/ violet and because of the
mica and composition of #112 pink it is somewhat milky. I used this color
with black and granite stone clay, marbelled them a little bit and made
really nice beads from this mix. I love them, I made a necklace from them
and have wearen it almost a week now: people are going crazy complimenting
those colors ! Now that I think of it this might be something that I should
tell in NG too..."

Notice that I use Cernit ! I dont know if you can get those colors from
other brands (so now it is your turn to blame me for not being
intercultural !).

Actually, now that I am into this, wouldn't this make a great thread ?
Recipes for your favorite mixes ?

I've been finally making color sample squares for the first time in the
five years I've been using polymer clay.  I'm using CFC exclusively, and
have gotten some beautiful mixtures using gold metallic:
1 part gold, 1 part turquoise = metallic olive
1 part gold, 1 part purple = dark copper
1 part gold, 1 part fuchsia = light copper
4 parts gold, 1 part black = bronze.

Also very nice is equal parts black and pearl white.

Yes, P?RR?, this could be a great thread!  Who's next?

Oh, yummy!  Several of these I haven't tried, but certainly will, ASAP!
Thanks a whole bunch.

I have used 1 part gold and one part Cadmium red #5382 to get a lovely
bright copper.
