I'm about to buy a kiln....actually a birthday present from my Husband.
I'll be fusing glass but I also want to work with PMC-what temp is needed for
the PMC?

Hi Peggy,

PMC fires at 1650o. I have a small Rapid Fire glass fusing kiln made
by Even Heat Kiln, Co. which fires to 2000o + and comes complete with
two 6" x 6" shelves and an installed pyrometer. You can maintain a
constant temperature in the kiln by using the switch and by venting. The
PMC must be maintained at the 1650o for 2-3 hours so it would require
careful watching. This kiln cost me $220 about 4 years ago and is great
for fused glass. Also, for glass demos because it is easy to carry and
works off regular 110 wiring.

I would love to try the PMC, but at $225 for 1/4 oz. I think it will
be quite a while before I can afford it.

Hope this helps,
