I'm new to polymer clay as well as the network.  I hope this isn't a
silly question but what is a brayer I have seen mentioned.

Thanks,
Karen

It's a small roller, with a handle. Found in most upper-scale art stores.
Comes in ***, wood, and clear acrylic. I prefer the acrylic. If you
find one and want to buy it, check it over, and make sure it has a smooth
surface and has no gouges or scratches. They could show up in your work.

So how do you use it to land an airplane?

Kathy,

Your sad little notes have been so heartrending.  What a
disappointment!  I didn't take part in the swap, and actually have yet
to do a bead, so I can't send you one (you probably wouldn't want one
of mine anyway, at this early point in my experience with polyclay).

In sympathy,

LynnDel

Kathy,
I was in Varda's swap and hosted the other flower swap so I'll send you
one of both of my beads (I did two different ones). But I'm still hoping
yours will turn up for you!   --Jane

Thank you, Jane, and all of the others who have written to say they'll
send me beads.  I am so greatful to all of you.  I am just sick thinking
that all of your beautiful work is sitting in a post office somewhere,
and not around my neck!!  Thank you again!  Kathy

I'll send you a replacement, Kathy, if you send the address... have you
contacted the PO and all that stuff? (I still think you should check the
postal carrier's jewelry box!) Frustrating, I know.

Aw, I don't mean to sound THAT pathetic!!  But thanks for your concern!!

I am surprisingly disturbed that they are lost - not only because I WANT
them, but because there's so much gorgeous work and so much of other
people's time and effort sitting in a dead letter bin somewhere!  And
also I have so many packages sent to me as meister, and I mail so many
out, it's kind of scared me... what will be lost next??  I also don't
like things to be out of my own control... I want to be able to march
into every stop along the route and look for myself and find it!

The great news is SO MANY of you have offered to send me replacement
beads -I am thrilled with your generosity and want to thank everyone
again.    Kathy

Hi Kathy,
I tried to email you about the lost beads but I emailed somebody else by accident.  Anyway I meant to tell you I have some extra Varda Flowers.  If you want one of mine please email me your address.

Because of my experiences with the USPS, I will never send pkgs through
them again if any other option is available.  During the last five years
they have completely lost two pkgs and "misplaced or misdirected" four
others.  My niece's graduation present was found in Atlanta but was
addressed to Tulsa! Needless to say, if I  am forced to use the mail, the
pkgs are insured so that I have a nice little piece of paper in my hands.
They settle these claims faster too.  In this case, money is of little
compensation - you just want your mail and I empathize!!
My choice of carrier is UPS,  anyone with a tracking system is better than
the mail!

I also prefer UPS to the US Postal Service when I'm mailing packages.  Not only do I feel more secure, but their prices tend to be cheaper as well.
