I've just got my hands on a copy of Sue's new book - but it wasn't
easy. My local bookshop says they won't be able to get it until May 22,
when it will finally be available from the distributor.
Instead, I attended the Great British Bead Show in Nottingham this
weekend, where Sue was teaching and had some of her books for sale. I
can strongly recommend it - it's very different indeed from other
polymer clay books. If*** isn't your thing or you want to try
something new, this is the book to get. Although there is some***
in the book, the emphasis is on non-caned work - surface treatments,
fruit & flowers, small figures, applique and mosaic are included in the
projects. I took Sue's two workshops as well and have come away
thinking of all sorts of things I could make with my clay - flowers in
Also, Sue and I got our heads together and discussed starting a polymer
clay group/guild in the U.K. We started getting names of those
interested on a list, and hope to get something going soon.
