I am a potter, and I am new to the wonders of the internet, can anyone tell me
how I can communicate with other potters( I am throwing clay on a wheel and
using an electric kiln). I live in a rural area and could always use some
advice from folks working around places with lots of knowledge. Thanks, I will
anxiously await your replies.

There is a clay listserv (like a newsgroup but handled in e-mail) but I don't
have the subscription information -- maybe someone else can post it for you.

Yes there is, it's very helpful and there is also a new usenet group
(brand new) called rec.crafts.pottery

To get onto the clay listserv you send your email message to this address:

with the subject line blank and this in the message body:

subscribe clayart yourfirstname yourlastname

you can receive it in digest form, instructions for posting and switching
to digest are mailed upon subscription
