Well I've been encouraged that it's time to recruit a North San Francisco Bay
Guild.  This is in hopes of being active at Embellishments when it comes to
Sacramento July 17-19.  A group of my personal friends had requested a clay day
for making Christmas gifts and it works out to be a good location to hold an
open house.  Please spread the word and encourage anyone in the North Bay area
to check it out!
We will be having an open house at the Fort Mason Gatehouse on Dec. 13, 1998
from 10am-5pm to recruit interest in forming a New North Bay Guild.  This will
feature a hands on make it-take it  with FIMO clay and premade canes, ($4 for
one project and $15 for unlimited projects). We have door prizes for  guests
who register.  Millefiori artist Barbara McGuire (that's me) will be available
to demonstrate and instruct.   I will be exhibiting pieces from the collection
at Accent Import as well as my own collection of art from renown artists.  If
you would like to participate in a sale, please call me at 514-922-6366.  You
may sell items at this event for a small commission  (to help offset the cost
of the building).  This is the same weekend that Ft. Mason will be hosting the
Celebration of Creative Craftswomen and a good opportunity to also purchase
works from participating craftswomen Sarah Shriver, Gwen Gibson and Dotty
Calbrese.
Hopefully the formation of a North Bay Guild will allow the polymer community
to extend it's ability to inform and enrich the Bay area  in its appreciation
of polymer clay! Our second meeting is tentatively scheduled for Jan 22.Please
spread the word and hope you can join us!
Sincerely,
Barbara McGuire
