For those of you who have the "Precision Cutting Guides" for segment cutting
of sheets of clay, they are excellent when doing the "Skinner Blends". Simply
roll out a sheet of clay and lay either of the guides on the surface. By
gently pressing on the template it will leave impressions. The circle template
will give you impressed cutting lines for angles of 30 degrees, 60, 90 etc.
The square template will give you cutting lines of 45 degrees, 90, 135 degrees
etc. Use either the Imperial ruler ( inches) on the circle template or the
Metric ruler (mm) on the square template, whichever you are more comfortable
with, to measure and extend these cutting lines to create larger triangles
etc. Roll out different colored sheets of clay and repeat the same process.
Reassemble these segments of different colored clay pieces, and use this new
sheet of clay as your beginning piece, fold and roll through the pasta
machine. Remember to record your "recipe" so you can create identical blended
sheets of clay.
