Spotted!

In keeping with the new tradition (I hope) of reporting polyclay items spotted
for sale, this weekend at a flea market I saw somw more of those incredibly
detailed beads made into pendants (Grateful Dead, sun, dolphin, etc themes...)
But they ALSO had small cylindrical beads of equal complexity for $2 each and
incense burners (the type ueually made from a slab of wood curled up at the
end) which were completely covered in a kalaidescope-type pattern of fl***
and other canes -- selling for $7-10 depending on size -- if you bought
retail, the CLAY would cost almost that much! (I exaggerate only slightly!) I
asked it the stuff was imported, but the guy selling them (who didn't seem to
know for sure) thought they came from " a couple over by Portsmouth (NH)"...
Also had votive candles madde from small roundish clear glass jars covered
with a layer of canework. (I think they were about $5, but I'm not sure now.)

I can't compete with THAT kind of pricing -- guess I need to find a different
niche!
