Darn, I should have known Katherine would beat me to it -- everybody forget my
lame attempt to describe the technique when the Master herself hath spoke! ;^)
(Well, at least I can assume I'm not in trouble for trying!! THIS time!)

Kathy, that's easy for you to say!!!!   Thanks so much, though, for responding
to this post, and relieving my extreme curiosity.  Although I was in your class
at Arrowmont, you gave us so much info, I didn't absorb it all, and I've wanted
to know about these feathers ever since!  However, this won't prevent me from
wanting to take another class from you ... it only whets my appetite!  Again,
many thanks for the generous post.  Now the really hard part is trying to carry
it off!  See you at Ravensdale!!!  (Kathy will be teaching a class on modeling
the human form at Ravensdale, but her techniques apply across the board; human,
animal, plant, or otherwise!)  --- Dori
