Hi all,

Thought I would post this for those of you who don't get Jewelry Crafts
magazine (and if it continues to be half as good as this issue with clay
articles, you really *should*--very reasonably priced too).

In an article called "Face to Face," Christine Brashers shows how to make
a complex face cane and various kinds of hair.  There is a full page of
her faces (in color, of course)--about 40-50 of them. Yes, Jewelry Crafts!
(They have lots of nice pictures of Karen Lewis', Dotty's, and Christine
Albert-Mas' stuff too--and with Klew, a long article; hope I didn't leave
anyone out; it was all great.)

Anyway, her color recipes are (pts = parts or blocks):

SKIN
lt.skin = 6 pts flesh + 3/8 pt rosewood
med.skin = 5 pts flesh + 1/2 pt rosewood

lt.brown skin = 3 pts champagne + 3 pts terra cotta
dk brown skin = 4 pts champagne + 1 pt terra cotta

CHEEKS
cheeks (lt and med skin) = 1 pt pink + 1 pt rosewood
cheeks (brown skin) = 3/4 pt terra cotta + 3/4 pt orange + 3/4 pt champage
(or                                  1+1+1)

LIPS
lt. lip color (lt and med skin) = 1 pt pink
dk. lip color (lt and med skin) = 1 pt red

lt lip color (brown skin) = 1/2 pt champagne + 1/2 pt orange + 1/16 pt
terra cotta
dk lip color (brown skin) =1 pt orange + 1/16 pt terra cotta

EYES
blue, green, brown, or violet

HAIR
golden yellow + terra cotta
terra cotta + ocher
black + dove gray
black + /white
terra cotta + champage

I'm sure hoping that we can figure out a way to get this Jewelry Crafts
issue that carries this stuff.

Jewelry Crafts will send a FREE issue to any bona fide polymer clay or
bead guild.  If you are not a member of a guild, they can probably tell
you how to get an issue in your area.  Call Miller Magazines (the
publisher) in Ventura CA at 1 805 644 3824 for info or to register your
guild.

Actually, some of us live in parts of the world which are seriously
print-media-challenged.
Would sumone mind posting the subscription information for Jewelry
Crafts?
Aloha,

You are so right.  I can't find magazines and crafts here that I could
find on the mainland.
