I'm brand new on the Net and would like to know if there is anyone
in this newsgroup interested in calligraphy.  I've been working with
it for many years.

Hi Eloise

I decided, after watching a tv series back in 1983, that I could teach
myself Calligraphy! Ken Brown was it? I ordered the kit and had a go -
not very succesfully. Since I returned to the UK (from Southern
California) I have taken night-classes and really love it. I have won
several prizes in a County Show for my work but really only do it for
fun - I write verses in hand-made greetings cards etc. I don't feel
competent enough to take commissions!

I have also demonstrated at our local primary school and taught the kids
there some basics - that's a lot of fun.

Eloise, I certainly am. I'm a typeface designer, too, and lately I've
been working with several calligraphers on making digital versions of
various alphabets. Just kind of a pet project.

I'm also really interested in Hebrew calligraphy and illuminated text
work. Have you seen the collection of stuff they have at the Judah Magnes
museum in Berkeley, probably not far from where you are judging from the
area code.

Hi Eloise,

I am interested in learning caligraphy. Since I do personlized gifts, I'd like to learn a different style other than what I currently do now. I'd love to
hear from you!!
