Yes Yes! I am on my second book, and have my 3 daughters now doing their
own books too.  Wish someone would set up a discuss group just for
srapbookers here.

To learn about creating a new newsgroup go to:

http://www.geocities.com/ResearchTriangle/Lab/6882/ncreate.html

Beware, creating a new newsgroup is a long, involved, drawn out process
that involves anouncing/requesting what you want to do, voting, etc.
I've been looking into this simply because I'm interested in the
process, not due to any desire to start a new newsgroup. You have to
decide if the group is to be moderated, unmoderated, where to store the
FAQ, and all sorts of red tape.
Perhaps a better wish would be "I wish someone would find a way to make
it easier to set up a group for scrapbookers."

I actually think I may have seen a scrapbooking newsgroup. I'll check
and get back to you.

The rec.crafts.scrapbooks group is not a legal group, it is considered bogus
because someone's (I can't remember whose) name was forged for its creation.
Some servers do get it (Cheer, yours does, I see) but some do not.

However, there has been created a brand new alt.crafts.scrapbooks group that
right now can be accessed through Deja (www.deja.com)

Or you can contact your ISP and ask them to carry the new group.
HTH, let me know if you have troubles.

Thanks, everyone for responding. I thought there were no eles that did
scrapbooking. I love to do scrapbooking. I started in april of this
year. My sister died in April. I wanted to do something for her boy's to
remember her by.I cry at times to do the pics but I still do them
because its the only thing I can hold on to.When I am finished I will
have the scrapbooks to cherished and hand down to my children and my
newphew's kids. It's going to be a herloom. That way my kids will know
what their aunt was like. Also what my newphew's kid's granmother was
like.                    Thanks to everyone who replyed
I would really like to create a new scrapbooking chat room for all of us
scrapbookers.

Carolyn, I just wanted to tell you how special I think that is.  I would have
loved that if someone could have (would have) done that for me.  I am adopted
and have found my biological grandparents.  My biological mother passed away
6months before I found her.  My grandparents are very old and don't recall
things very well.  But at least I have gotten to meet them. Sorry for
rambling...My mother (adoptive)has just passed away and my boys ages 3 and 2
will not be able to remember what a wonderful and kind person she was...so I am
doing a "Grams" (that is what my 3 yr old called her) book for them.  I make
sure that I take a lot of time and write as much as I can about the events and
pictures so that they will get the full meaning of it.

Sorry about your loss.
Take care, Flavia

Carolyn,

I'm so sorry for your loss.  It's amazing how healing can come through
scrapbooking.  I lost my grandmother a little over a month ago and I've done
a few pages in her memory - they're hard to do but also make losing her a
little easier to deal with.

That'll be a wonderful gift for your nephews, and the generations to come.

Dear nghs Thanks so much for repyling.I had to take my newphews in and
give  them a home when my sister died. I sorry about you being adopted.
I have a sister-in -law that is adopted. Thank you very much for saying
that was special thing to do. I am so sorry that your adopted mother
died. But with your creating memories they can be cherished though the
centruries. That is so sweet that you are calling the scrapbook.( gram
s)I record all the dates,( try to anyway)
the year, the people and where it was took at.Also I try to give it a
title ( Kathy's Baby Shower) for example.I enjoyed chatting you.
