Looking at making some gel candles with crystals and fragrances in them.
Can get a ready amde gel wax from the shops, but would like to make our own
from scratch. Does anyone know what is required to make it up.

Try the knox gelatin air freshener gels.
Get Liquid Potpourri scent concentrate  from Walmart or JoAnns.
Heat 1 cup of the liquid add 4 packs of Knox Geletin, stir to mix. Add
another cup of cold liquid and pour into jars. Put  in the fidge until
set. A couple of hours. They last about 6 weeks.
(It's not necessary to put them in the fridge.)
Top the plain cover with fabric or cover the open jar with an open
fabric, lace, or mesh and tie with ribbon.

not only do they last about 6 weeks, just keep adding more water and mine
have lasted 2 or 3 years.  When the scent starts to fade add more liquid
Potpourri.  Have also added the liquid to Soil Moist Granules and had what
looks like chipped ice.  Enjoy!
