I am a sculptor creating normal (pedestal-mounted likenesses) from 4-5 ounce
cowhide.  Yes it is possible!  Ears, eyeballs and even lashes I can do very
well.  But I'm not practiced in most of the traditional leather craft

possibilities a serious (and able to relocate (I know this will be a rare

Your email address came back "User unknown"... holiday problems?

You might like to try your question on the International Internet
Leathercrafters Guild bulletin board.  Or contact individual
leathercrafters through the iilg gallery.

http://www.iilg.org/

I'd also suggest you repost your query on ng:alt.fairs.renaissance as
there are several leather crafters I know who lurk/participate there.

Another possible source for your leathercrafter is here:

http://www.faire.net/SCRIBE/WebScribe.htm

Click on "merchants" in the left margin, click on "products" in the
right frame, click on the dropdown menu and scroll to highlight
"Leather costume accessories" then on the "search" button.  Some of
these merchants travel from fair to fair.

Good luck in your search.
