Hey Folks,

Based on our earlier discussion about a New England "Mini-Con", I've gone ahead and confirmed the reservation for the Party Room at
my apartment complex.

Date:
Saturday, July 21, 2001. And this time I really mean JULY, not June.
Time:
    ~11AM to 11PM, with possible late-night dinner at a local Denny's resteraunt.

URL:
    http://www.moschini.org/minicon-2001/

The web page includes all the info of location, features, and directions.

So, if you're anywhere near New England (and yes, that includes Rhode Island.. ;-), you're welcome to drop by.

Or if you're willing to drive longer distances, you're welcome to come too.

Just e-mail me if you intend to come to the party.

-Giuliano

Much as I'd like to, Seattle is a little too far away. But then, so
are Wonderfest, Anime Expo and IPMS Nationals.

DRAT, BLAST and DAMN that I'm so far away from these events!! Grrrrrr.

Well, if you're ever interested in "dropping by", if there is ever such a thing, flights from Southwest Airlines are as low as $376
for an *** round trip ticket, on Tues/Wed/Sat flights.

They also have a promotional roundtrip fare of $402, which is the next best fare.

And that's from Seattle/Tacoma to Manchester, NH (30 mins away).

I once flew from New Jersey to San Diego when I was 20 for a weekend party..

Best $400 I ever spent. ;-)

I'm going to try to head out there.... be in NYC in late july... then bus up to NH.... then bus back to NYC for my flight out.... been
a while since I did the east coast thing... I'd like to stop by Boston (my home town) and look at it with slightly older eyes, but
that'll probably have to wait...

Anyways, as soon as I get any hard facts I'll emial you so you can add me to the guest list ;-)

Hot damn!

I'm impressed... I did my first cross-country trip from New Jersey to San Diego when I was.. 20, I think.

And you're 19 now? Awesome. (Unless I'm completely mistaken...)

Do you still have relatives in the Boston area?

Confirmed: New England "Mini-Con" 2001

My Birthday is in two days (thursday), then I'll be 19.
This will be the first time getting across mostly on my own, but I've been making the trip solo since I moved to Cali when I was 5...
last time I did it was when I was.... 16? Something like that. Flew to Boston then bussed to Maine to visit family... unfortunately, I
missed my scheduled bus (supposed to leave at about 8:00 PM..) and ended up having to spend the night in a very uncomfortable bus
station in downtown Boston.... one of the more memorable evenings of my life. Managed to find an all night diner and spent a few hours
there flirting with the waitresses... well, they seemd to be flirting more with me than the other way around (always seem to get along
better with women when I'm away from home...) Anyways, I digress.

As for my relatives, the closest are in Maine (near Bangor), and NYC. Either way, hopefully things will work out... I can get tickets
for about 350 bucks methinks.. if I'm wiling to redeye it... which I always am...

Anyways, as for what I might bring... itd be uneconomical to bring any models cross country (unless I'm taking them back to CA), but I
know a friend who has DiVX AVI's of the first 13 or 14 eps of Z Gundam..... with luck I'll be able to get those burned.

so I just need to talk to my father now and see if he'll be able to let me stay at his place in late July... will keep the board posted!

Which city are you flying out of?

Southwest Airlines has some good deals, if you happen to be at one of their airports.

Awesome! I only have the first two episodes, so far.

Patrick, for ticket help, check out this site:

http://www.hotwire.com

If you're looking for a no-frills flight plan, this might save you a couple of bucks.

We live in Durham, NC; moved from Minnesota. Just for fun I looked at ticket prices from Raleigh to Minneapolis- $167 round trip (for one)
last time I checked them.

Well, if you were to fly from Sacramento to Manchester, NH (or I were to do the reverse), it would cost $402 round trip, possibly a
bit less if you flew out on a Wed.

SouthWest apparently doesn't fly into New York, so it's a moot point anyway.
