Actually, that was Vostok to the Shuttle in 20 years to the day (April 12
'61 vs '81). For Sputkin it's 24 years. Still impressive.

No, I meant Sputnik.  From the first manmade orbital space object to the
most advanced one, Sputnik to Space Shuttle.  Not trying to point out the
advancement of manned craft, but the advancement from a craft that merely
broadcast a radio signal, to one that allows man to go to space, spend an
extended amount of time there, and return safely.

But where does a Gundam fit into this?

flying near us."
"Endeavor, can you describe it?"
"Houston, it's tall, mostly white with some red and blue areas, humanoid
