Battle Scarred Gundam Question

Battle Scarred Gundam Question

Post by BlazeEagl » Wed, 16 Apr 2003 16:45:56

Is the B.S. [pun not intended] RX-78-2 Gundam the original, the 1.5 or
the 2.0? It's hard to tell for sure in the commerical but it looks 2.0ish...

I ask because my 2.0's V-fin fell off. While it's easily fixed with a
dab of super glue, if the B.S. Gundam is the 2.0, I'll buy it instead
because I want to customise my finless 2.0 into a custom spec ops Gundam.

It's a 1.5.

I suggest you get it anyway - Even if you're not into repaints, it can do the
''last shooting'' pose, which doesn't need the head! (They give it a new
stick-joint for the neck to make it a little less ''stupid'' looking.

Sorry, it's the 1.5.

But it DOES have a special removable head, so it gets major points for that.

Actually, all of the BSes are partial-to-total resculpts - they really range
in at about 1.6. So although it is roughly equal in terms of articulation,
etc. to the 1.5, it might not be interchangable.

Excellent! Glad to know the BSes are not just mere repaints but tweaked
figures.

Oh, yeah. All those pockmarks and scratches aren't just painted on. At the
very least, they're modified from earlier MSiA molds, although I think that
at least a couple parts (and not just the spares) are actually total
resculpts.

I know my brother has the 1.5 RX-78 and my son has the BS version.  The BS
version isn't as loose (the arms don't pop off, etc.)

How old is your son? I ask because I'm curious to see what kids think of
Gundam...

Oh, he's only two and a half.  I take all of the small parts and put them up
and I NEVER let him play with MSiA's without supervision for fear the arm or
leg will pop off and end up in his mouth.  He's well past the "puts
everything in his mouth" stage, but just in case.  He loves them though.
Runs around the room and and makes them shoot and fly.  He can recognize
them on TV, wants to play Journey to Jaburo when I turn on my PS2 "I want to
play Gundam, daddy."  He can also name some mobile suits on sight without
prompting like Zaku (can't make the distinction between a Zaku II, and Zaku
III...YET!) Gouf (Goof, not GuF), Geo (The O), Quebeley, Sazabi, and most
importantly, Gundam (any red/white/blue mobile suit).

His current collection of Gundam stuff includes
MSiA Nu Gundam (which we don't play with)
MSiA BS RX-78-8
MSiA BS RX-79 [G]
MSiA Zock
HG Gundam
1/144 scale Nu Gundam (w/o fin funnels)
1/144 GP03 (not the HGUC, that's mine)
SD Char's Zaku II

Well, I'm 12 and I quite liked Gundam Wing (I saw it on Cartoon
Network). The first few eps were really good like the episode the gundam
deathscythe, that one was really cool. The one where all the Gundams
were being sent to earth (the first one) was pretty cool.
