I would like to buy the two kits in the subject line.  They are, of
course, the 1/100 Arii kits.  Please e-mail me if you know where to get
them or you have some for sale yourself.  Thanks!

I tell you right now, you want to stay away from the Arii 1/100 Defender.
As an impulse I bought one at a local hobby shop for 7 dollars two months
ago. Wish I hadn't wasted the money, the thing is a nightmare. I've never
seen such a lack of craftsmanship in a kit in all my life.

It's still on the bench, where daily I try to figure out how to fix it's
many problems. I've fixed a lot of the problems, but that doesn't make a
dent! There's a whole lot of parts that are molded with the backs left open!
I've used a lot of sheet styrene and expoxy putty and squadron green putty
on this kit.

My favorite***up on the kit is this: The***pit is molded in halves! That's
right, leaving a gaping seam right down the middle. Which is almost impossible
to get rid of, without destroying adjacent detail! Making this worse, the halves
of the***pit aren't symmetrical! They're supposed to be, but they aren't! Detail
on one half is offset from it's equilivent on the other half! When you look at it
from the front it looks like one of those guys that have one sideburn shorter than
the other! I've corrected this by "shaving" the detail off both parts! (pun intended)

Now, I've been told that the Imai 1/72 is a LOT better! It's 3? inches taller for
starters. It has many more joints, and lots of detail, and the headlights in it's
chest are made of clear plastic, so you can install LEDs if you want to.

But of course in the vast wisdom of the mecha model companies, the imai kit has not
been reissued for the 15th anniversary! Nor has any of the other 1/72 scale Imai kits!
