France - La Parianne De Bicentenaire - Question

Post by Chris M. Cave » Sun, 17 Jul 1994 15:25:32

I recently saw a French La Parianne De Bicentenarie without a Denomination on
it (the lower left corner was blank).  It is the same red a the earlier issues.
1992 Scott #2179 starts the series and the series is from 1989-????).

Is this an error stamp?

Chris,

Sorry, its a normal issue, of type Validite Permanente, much like our US A, B, C
issues, printed when the PTT wasn't sure what the new rate would be, so
they have no value printed on them.

BTW, its "Marianne du Bicentenaire"

It is in fact "la Marianne du bicentenaire" (i.e 200 year of french revolution)

Unfortunately not: it is the current stamp, without face value. It is currently
sold at 2,80 FF but if the rates araise, it can be sold at an higher price.

I think it started last year.
