Mail Bid Sale?

Mail Bid Sale?

Hello everyone!

I am wondering if anyone would be interested in trying to put together a
mail bid sale in this and other stamp newsgroups.

It might be interesting and/or fun to do this over the internet.

Has this been tried?  Is there any interest in buying or selling excess
stock in this way.

I don't think it would have to be a serious auction with lots in the
hundreds of dollars, but maybe just an informal sale like you might find in
a stamp club.  (After all, isn't this on big, worldwide club?)

Give me your feedback.  I would be happy to organize the whole affair.

Let me know what y'all think!  Post to this newsgroup or send me email at
the SECOND address below.  (It's my home account - not the one at work!)

I am thinking about setting up a moderated mailing list.  Bids sent to me
would then be digested and sent to the list every day or so.  I also have
access to an FTP and WWW site where I could post info for pick up.

Before I do all the work setting this up, drop me a line so I know if there
is interest!!  Would people out there be willing to bid?  How about
consigning materials for the sale?

Would you rather have a mailing list approach or an FTP/WWW pickup spot?

Drop me a quick email so I can get a feel for the interest out there?
