Early stampless covers (1828 and 1848)

I have come across an early stampless letter/cover dated Nov 3, 1848.  This
item contains a blue circular date stamp "NOV 3" and "MIDDLETOWN CON." and a
blue "5" surrounded by a blue oval.

I have another letter/cover dated March 26, 1828 which has a red manuscript
"10" and a red circular date stamp "MAR 28" and "NEWHAVEN CT".

Both letters contain correspondence concerning fraternities at Yale College.

Would anyone have an idea of value for these items?

Thanks.  Joe
