Gas Fridge from 20's, 30's???

Post by Dave Trembl » Fri, 14 Oct 1994 01:27:11

My grandfather has a gas fridge that is at least
50 years old.  It is still in working condition and
he used it during the last hurricane we got hit with
in 1991.

Where can I find out the value of this piece of
antiquity?

Gas Fridge from 20's, 30's???

Gas refrigerators are very much in demand for isolated cabins far from the
electric lines. Although they are currently available new, (the price for
a full size can run over $1000), the older Serval refrigerators can still
be found in the $200-300 range.  I managed to find a rather small model in
the back of a plumbers truck in Nanuet, New York that he had just removed
from a house. I got it for $35. We have several others in family houses in
the mountains of New Hampshire. The seem to go on working forever.
